This very unusual stairway is a great example of the great things that can happen when all parties are willing to brainstorm and not give up until they find good solutions. The general design was done by Nate Bailey, the architect, and then the Heartland design team worked to engineer and tweak the design to get the glass treads secure to the mono-beam, the wiring for the RGB lighting concealed, code compliance, etc. The tempered and laminated glass treads are secured with custom Stainless hardware and covered with antislip, the powder-coated horizontal bar balustrade is welded to the steel carriage, and the RGB lighting is linked to the smart home.
